MONOCHROMATIC MAGIC

Tired of too many color combinations within one look? Sometimes it is difficult to mix and match garments to make a complete outfit. Or want to look taller, but can’t wear high heels? Here’s the trick to break this confusion by going monochromatic.
While there's no arguing that color-block ensembles are here to stay and that the pretty sherbet hues are making their way, let me assure you those aren't the only must-try color trends at their tipping point this season!

Monochromatic color scheme consists of one color within an outfit (same color top and bottom for instance) with varying shades and intensities. This scheme works well professionally and socially. It creates an illusion of being taller and sleeker.

Choose the color that suits you the best. Could be a neutral shade, a pink, a blue or any other vibrant color! Every color has a variety of shades, so make the best use of them. Using a combination of various design elements and different fabrics of the same color will create a harmonious outfit. This can be clubbed with accent accessories to add a pop of second color to complete the look depicting your personal style and mood. You can invest in different accessories such as scarves, neckpieces, belts, clutches, shoes… And if you are not an accessory-person, try the dramatic eye makeup with bold shades or vibrant lip colors to enhance your appearance and make it look chic, trendy yet very elegant.

While adventurous dressers will surely gravitate towards brighter interpretations of monochromatic dressing, it's important to note that neutral versions of this one-color look leave an equally memorable impression.

This blue expresses a very stable mood. Blue is the monochromatic color in this case with an additional shade of gold adding bling to this casual attire. You can wear this informally for occasions where the message communicated needs to be relaxed and slightly dressy at the same time.

Also, if you don’t like to follow the fashion trends that change with time, the monochromatic look may be perfect for you. You would get to wear your clothes year after year without having to worry about buying new clothes every season. Just invest in new separates and you will be set to rock any event. At a glance it may appear not so interesting to you, but you would surely get to dress aesthetically with this attempt. Go out and try some monochromatic looks as they are easy to plan and experiment with!

GUILT-FREE SHOPPING

How do you deal with shopping obsession? Impulsive shopping creates a lot of stress:

1. Regretting almost half the purchases you make by the time you reach back home.
2. No matter how much you buy you usually don’t have anything to wear for important occasions.
3. Over spending on shopping by seeing the garment or accessory and not considering whether it is appropriate for you.

4. Falling prey to various offers which actually remove your attention from how much you save.

Here comes your guide for a GUILT-free shopping experience:

1. Identify roles, goals and frequent or upcoming occasions in your life.
2. Organize your wardrobe to discard the unwanted and group your clothes to increase visibility and accessibility to pick the appropriate outfits and save time.

3. Identify your shopping list and make a plan including budget, what you require and when do you need it.

4. Identify your personal characteristics like body shape, face shape, personal color and style to pick the most appropriate outfit/accessory.

5. Ease some of the strain on your budget by buying off season, for instance buy swim suits, shorts in winters and sweaters in summers.

6. Read the labels prior to buying clothes, so you know how to wash, dry and iron them and increase their wear-life.

7. The process of taking care of your clothes is as important as buying them. Set time aside to periodically check your clothes if any of them need maintenance such as fixing buttons, stitching hems that have opened up etc.

8. Lastly go through magazines/websites and pick out pictures of outfits you love. Cut a few pictures out and use them while shopping.

Let us replace compulsive shopping moments with organized and enjoyable experiences! Happy Shopping!
