Evergreen SECRETS!

You constantly communicate something to others around you whether you intend to or not.  Why not define this "something" as your personal STYLE.

Here are a few secrets to maintain your style effortlessly!

1. Long Legs

Nude heels are a must have wardrobe essential. These go with every outfit and moreover gives a slimming effect to your legs as it creates an illusion of extended length.  And we all love long legs!

2. Smart Cluster

Our wardrobe must have basics more than trendy wear. It is easier to cluster basic pieces with trendy ones to make a statement. Essential basics could be a White Top, Black Top, Blue Denims or a Beige Trouser.

3. Confusion Free

Yes, the evergreen secret of looking good is BLACK. Whether an LBD or a Black Clutch, it is our all time favorite. Makes us look slim, sexy and elegant. Easy to cluster it with accessories and accents. So whenever you are lost, just wear BLACK!

4. Stay Fit Look Fit

Exercise is a must to stay fit and healthy. It is also important to know your body/face type but it is more important to accept your body/face type. And the good news is that it is very easy to dress this body type because it is your little secret that nobody knows.

Wear clothes that fit well to enhance your assets and glorify your mood! Avoid the temptation to hide your body in loose fitted outfits that swamp your body's outline!

5. Transform a Basic Look

I know stylish women who adore covering themselves in accessories and others who prefer adopting a minimalist approach. Both look fabulous as long as you keep your personal style in mind.  It is important to keep a focal point or a rhythmic eye movement and your face shape in mind while accessorizing from head to toe.

6. Your Signature Style

Finally, each one of us has a signature/unique style that we wear everyday with confidence! It could be your mom's bangle or your wedding ring! It could be the same pear of denims styled differently every time.

Do not stop yourself from wearing a piece of garment in your wardrobe that you adore but it's out of fashion. It does not matter! It is your Personal Style and you are free to experiment. The trick here is, team it up with a latest color or a trend and you will be ready to go! Identify your style and flaunt it!

Leaving you with these thoughts to continue to look, feel and behave stylish!!! Be your own STYLIST

Dress and Flatter Your Rectangle Body Shape - Time to be CURVALICIOUS!

If you have a Rectangle body shape then it means that your silhouette is fairly straight up and down with a straight line look. You are similar to an Hourglass but without that killer waist.

Here are the characteristics typical of a Rectangle body shape:
  • Your bust and hips are approximately at the same width
  • You have little or no waist definition

The key to dressing this body type is to proportionally dress the top and bottom of your body while enhancing your waist.

You can wear form fitting clothing (such as a tube-type dress) and create a waist line by adding a suitable belt.

Or simply choose tops with a wider shoulder and bottoms with flare  together to throw emphasis on your killer waist line. Look for tops that will add curves to your upper half and create a more defined waist. Look for bottoms that add curves to your lower half while creating an hourglass effect.

You are the lucky one who get to flatter your body with different accessories and silhouettes!!!

MONOCHROMATIC MAGIC

Tired of too many color combinations within one look? Sometimes it is difficult to mix and match garments to make a complete outfit. Or want to look taller, but can’t wear high heels? Here’s the trick to break this confusion by going monochromatic.
While there's no arguing that color-block ensembles are here to stay and that the pretty sherbet hues are making their way, let me assure you those aren't the only must-try color trends at their tipping point this season!

Monochromatic color scheme consists of one color within an outfit (same color top and bottom for instance) with varying shades and intensities. This scheme works well professionally and socially. It creates an illusion of being taller and sleeker.

Choose the color that suits you the best. Could be a neutral shade, a pink, a blue or any other vibrant color! Every color has a variety of shades, so make the best use of them. Using a combination of various design elements and different fabrics of the same color will create a harmonious outfit. This can be clubbed with accent accessories to add a pop of second color to complete the look depicting your personal style and mood. You can invest in different accessories such as scarves, neckpieces, belts, clutches, shoes… And if you are not an accessory-person, try the dramatic eye makeup with bold shades or vibrant lip colors to enhance your appearance and make it look chic, trendy yet very elegant.

While adventurous dressers will surely gravitate towards brighter interpretations of monochromatic dressing, it's important to note that neutral versions of this one-color look leave an equally memorable impression.

This blue expresses a very stable mood. Blue is the monochromatic color in this case with an additional shade of gold adding bling to this casual attire. You can wear this informally for occasions where the message communicated needs to be relaxed and slightly dressy at the same time.

Also, if you don’t like to follow the fashion trends that change with time, the monochromatic look may be perfect for you. You would get to wear your clothes year after year without having to worry about buying new clothes every season. Just invest in new separates and you will be set to rock any event. At a glance it may appear not so interesting to you, but you would surely get to dress aesthetically with this attempt. Go out and try some monochromatic looks as they are easy to plan and experiment with!

GUILT-FREE SHOPPING

How do you deal with shopping obsession? Impulsive shopping creates a lot of stress:

1. Regretting almost half the purchases you make by the time you reach back home.
2. No matter how much you buy you usually don’t have anything to wear for important occasions.
3. Over spending on shopping by seeing the garment or accessory and not considering whether it is appropriate for you.

4. Falling prey to various offers which actually remove your attention from how much you save.

Here comes your guide for a GUILT-free shopping experience:

1. Identify roles, goals and frequent or upcoming occasions in your life.
2. Organize your wardrobe to discard the unwanted and group your clothes to increase visibility and accessibility to pick the appropriate outfits and save time.

3. Identify your shopping list and make a plan including budget, what you require and when do you need it.

4. Identify your personal characteristics like body shape, face shape, personal color and style to pick the most appropriate outfit/accessory.

5. Ease some of the strain on your budget by buying off season, for instance buy swim suits, shorts in winters and sweaters in summers.

6. Read the labels prior to buying clothes, so you know how to wash, dry and iron them and increase their wear-life.

7. The process of taking care of your clothes is as important as buying them. Set time aside to periodically check your clothes if any of them need maintenance such as fixing buttons, stitching hems that have opened up etc.

8. Lastly go through magazines/websites and pick out pictures of outfits you love. Cut a few pictures out and use them while shopping.

Let us replace compulsive shopping moments with organized and enjoyable experiences! Happy Shopping!

Time-Out for Happiness

Time-Out for Happiness

We all want to look good, do well, and receive appreciations and a positive feedback. What does it take to work on these factors? Just a little time out for you will make life simple and fun! Keep a little “Me Time” every day and bring about the positive change. But the question is where to start from?

Why not start from doing what you like to do or wearing what you think you can’t but you would love to wear! Yes, you read it right! So go pick your favourite piece of clothing from the wardrobe which you have invested in since a long time but always pondered over how to wear it. Remember this is your “me time” in the day and you are dressing for yourself! Still stuck with how to sport this look today? Let me help you with that… Is it a bright/vibrant printed top and you simply haven’t tried anything like that before? Why not team it up with a muted blazer or a third layer for work so the vibrancy is only visible to some extent and you have fun sporting this look!

OR it is a beautiful solid colour dress, but you think it is too dull for the day and doesn’t match your joyful mood? Try to team it up with your favourite colour accessory like a scarf/neckpiece/earrings/belt and lift your look by repeating the same colour with the appropriate makeup.

This is a great way to give yourself the “well-deserved me time” especially before you begin your precious day and enjoy the process of pampering yourself with things you love wearing! All you need to remember is, everyone can wear anything provided how it is to be worn is enjoyed and understood! And if you dedicate some time loving yourself, you surely would project a winning image each time!
